Happy 11. Birthday für unsere geliebte Minouh
Minouh war der allererste Welpe in meiner Msumari`s Zucht.
Sie wurde schon am 26.12.2009 kurz vor Mitternacht geboren, aber nachdem ihre 3 Geschwister nach Mitternacht auf die Welt kamen, wurde der Wurf dann am 27. registriert.

Nach monatelanger Planung erwarten wir in unserem Msumaris` Basenjis Kennel Anfang 2021 zwei Würfe mit einer Doppelbelegung von Mutter „Youhli“ und Tochter „Noué“!
Es ist das erste Mal, dass wir hier bei Msumari`s Basenjis 2 Würfe haben, und es ist das allererste Mal, dass Würfe mit einer Doppelbelegung von Basenjis in Deutschland gemacht worden sind!

Vielen Dank an Lise & Yves Durlot von Swala Pala Basenjis in Frankreich, ohne deren Hilfe die Umsetzung meiner Träume in diesen Zeiten nicht gelungen wäre!
Hier noch ein paar Infos:
Durch eine Doppelbelegung kommt es zu einer höheren genetischen Diversität innerhalb einer Wurfs. Das ist für seltene Rassen immer ein Zugewinn. Man kann mit einem Wurf erreichen, wofür es sonst 2 Würfe braucht.
Des Weiteren ist es eine „Absicherung“ für den Erfolg eines Wurfes, wenn ein älterer oder jüngerer unerfahrener Rüde deckt. Das Risiko, dass ein Wurf nicht klappt kann dadurch ausgeglichen werden.
In frei lebenden Hunderudeln – so etwas gibt es allerdings meist nur unter Streunern im Süden – sind Mehrfachbelegungen hundetypisch. Um die Art zu erhalten, mit möglichst sicherem Zuchterfolg und einer Genvielfalt innerhalb eines Wurfs hat die Natur dies so eingerichtet.
In Deutschland wurden bis Stand Sommer erst 8 Doppelbelegungen bei allen Rassen durchgeführt.
Dr. Helga Eichelberg, die Ehrenvorsitzende der Gesellschaft zur Förderung
Kynologischer Forschung (GKF) e.V. mit der ich in direktem Kontakt stehe, macht eine Studie zu dieser Thematik, an der wir mit unseren beiden Würfen teilnehmen werden.
Ich selber bin natürlich auch extrem gespannt, ob die Doppelbelegungen geklappt haben und ob tatsächlich auch jeweils Welpen von beiden Rüden in den Würfen geboren werden.
Ob dies dann auch der Fall ist, wird kurz vor der Wurfabnahme mittels DNA Test festgestellt werden
Das Ganze ist in hochinnovatives Projekt in meiner Msumari`s Basenjizucht und ich freue mich schon sehr auf die kommende spannende Zeit!
Auch wenn es sehr viel zu organisieren war, auch wenn ich höhere Deckgebühren habe und durch die Gentests ziemliche Mehrkosten und höhere Kosten beim Tierarzt habe denke ich, dass eine Doppelbelegung einer Rasse mit kleiner Wurfstärke und kleiner Population immer zuträglich ist!

Here some more infos:
Dual sired litters results in a higher genetic diversity within a litter. This is always an asset for rare breeds. It is possible to achieve with one litter what it would normally take 2 litters. Furthermore, it is a „safeguard“ for the success of a litter if an older or younger inexperienced male mates. The risk that a litter will not happen can be compensated for. In free-living dog packs – something like this usually only occurs among strays in the south – multiple occupancies are typical for dogs. This is what nature does to be successful.
In Germany, till summer only 8 dual-sired litters have been happend in all breeds.
Dr. Helga Eichelberg, the honorary chairwoman of the Society for the Promotion of Cynological Research (GKF) eV and with who I am in contact with is doing a study on this topic, and we are happy to take part with our two litters.
Of course, I am extremely curious to see, if the double mating was successful and if we will really get puppies of 2 males in each litter.
We have to do a DNA test before the puppies will be registered.
A highly innovative project in my Msumari`s Basenji breed and I am really looking forward! Exciting times ahead!
Even it was a lot to organize, even I have higher stud fees and the genetic tests mean additional costs and higher costs at the vet, I think that a dual-sired litter in a breed with small litter size and a small population is always beneficial!

Happy 15. Birthday to our golden lady „Loua“

Alt werden ist nichts für Feiglinge!
Nachdem unsere golden lady „Loua“ zeit ihres Lebens die Tierarztpraxis eigentlich nur zum Impfen von innen gesehen hat, hat es sie dieses Jahr schon arg erwischt.
2 nötige Zahn-OPs im Frühjahr und Sommer, eine unangenehme Blasenentzündung ebenfalls im Sommer und im Herbst aine OP am Auge wegen eines Lidrandtumors, der sich dann aber glücklicherweise nur als gutartige Verwucherung herausgestellt hat!
Operationen und die hierfür nötigen Narkosen sind immer ein Risiko, aber „Loua“ hat alle OPs super weggesteckt.
Da „Loua“ nach der Augen-OP nicht sehr gut mit dem normalen Kragen zurechtgekommen ist, wir über 2 Wochen aber extrem aufpassen mussten, dass sie nicht an der Wunde kratzt, haben wir dank eines super TIpps den Optivizor für sie gekauft! Sieht sehr spacig aus, „Loua“ ist aber sehr gut damit zurecht gekommen und die Wunde ist super verheilt!
Wir hoffen, dass „Loua“ nun wieder Ruhe hat und keine weiteren Arztbesuche mehr anstehen!

Getting old is not for sissies!
After our golden lady „Loua“ had only ever seen the vet to get her vaccinations, she was hit harder this year. 2 necessary dental surgeries in spring and summer, one unpleasant cystitis also in summer and in autumn a surgery on the eye because of a lid tumor, which fortunately only turned out to be a benign overgrowth! Surgeries and the anesthetics are always a risk, but „Loua“ fortunatly coped very well. She did not get along very well with the normal collar after the eye surgery, and we had to be extremely careful for 2 weeks that she does not scratch the wound. Thanks to a great advice we bought the Optivizor for her! Looked very spacy, but „Loua“ coped very well with it and the wound did healed super! We hope that „Loua“ has some peace now and that there are no more visits to the doctor needed!

Yoko, der vierte Welpe konnte leider nicht dabei sein, aber er ist so toll wie seine Geschwister
Yagoh und seine Besitzer haben uns für ein Wochenende besucht und wir haben uns dann noch auf der Rennbahn in Ingolstadt mit 2 seiner Geschwister und weitere Verwandten getroffen.
Die 3 Youngsters durften natürlich auch ihren ersten Welpenlauf absolvieren.
War das ein Spaß für alle!

Yagoh and his owners visited us for the weekend and we have met at the track at Ingolstadt as well 2 of his sibblings and other relatives.
The youngsters did of course their first puppyraces.
That was so much fun for everybody!

Ymani & Yaki
Ymani & Yaki (5,5 Monate alt) waren mit ihren Besitzern zu Besuch und wir haben einen schönen Nachmittag zusammen verbracht.
Gassi im Wald, Flitzen und Spielen im Garten für die Vierbeiner und Grillen für die Menschen – ein schöner Nachmittag!
Ich habe natürlich die Gelegenheit genutzt und ein paar Foto der beiden Youngsters gemacht.
Beide haben sich ganz toll entwickelt!

Es gibt immer einen Sinn im Leben…
Leider gibt es keinen Sommerwurf in meiner Msumari`s Basenji Zucht.
Der Ultraschall hat es gezeigt!
Die Frage nach dem „Warum“ stellt sich uns nicht, es ist einfach so, das ist die Natur und wir nehmen es so hin.
Es tut mir nur sehr leid für die zukünftigen Welpenbesitzer, die nun länger auf ihren Welpen warten müssen.
Wir planen nun für den Herbst/Winter den Msumari`s I-Wurf.

Corona-Zeit: Warum wollen plötzlich alle einen Basenji?
Normalerweise bekomme ich pro Monat vielleicht 1-2 Anfragen nach einem Basenjiwelpen aus meiner Zucht.
Aber seit einiger Zeit bekomme ich, wie andere Basenjizüchter und Züchter anderer Rassen auch, fast täglich Anfragen nach einem Welpen.
Ich frage mich schon, woran das liegt!
Die Vermutung liegt nahe, dass es eine Mischung aus Langeweile, viel Zeit zu Hause und Sehnsucht nach Natur ist, die die Menschen plötzlich auf den Hund/Basenji kommen lässt.
Wenn ich dann genauer hinterfrage, trennt sich meist sehr schnell die Spreu vom Weizen, da ich sehr wählerisch bin und meine Welpen nur dann platziere, wenn ich das zukünftige Zuhause als perfekt erachte!
Man sollte sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass es auch eine Zeit nach Corona gibt, in der man wieder seinen Acht-Stunden-Bürotag hat und die Zeit für einen Basenji nicht mehr vorhanden ist!
Die Verantwortung, die mit der Anschaffung eines Basenjis einhergeht, sollte nicht auf die leichte Schulter genommen werden.
Ein Basenji ist keine einfache Rasse, und es ist eine Rasse, die einen über viele Jahre begleitet!
Bitte machen Sie sich vorab über Ihre eigene Lebensphilosophie sowie Ihre Lebensumstände Gedanken und prüfen Sie, ob diese mit der Haltung eines Basenjis vereinbar sind – auch wenn vielleicht derzeit Corona bedingt eine freiere Zeiteinteilung möglich ist.
Die Lebenserwartung eines Basenjis ist länger als die Pandemie!
Und bitte informieren Sie sich vorab genau über die Eigenschaften der Rasse auf meiner Homepage!

Corona time: Why suddenly everyone wants a Basenji?
Usually I get maybe 1-2 requests per month for a Basenji puppy of my breeding.
But since quite a while now, I receive requests for a puppy almost every day, like other Basenji breeders and breeders of other breeds.
And I really wonder why!
The assumption is obvious that it is a mixture of boredom, a lot of time at home and a desire for nature why people all of a sudden want to have a dog/ Basenji.
If I ask these people more precise, the chaff separates from the wheat very quickly, because I am very picky and I only place my puppies when I consider the future home to be perfect!
People should be aware that there is also the time after Corona, in which they have their eight-hour office day again and the time for a Basenji is no longer available!
The responsibility that comes with purchasing a Basenji should not be taken that easy.
A Basenji is not an easy breed, and a breed, which will be a pal for many years!
Please think about your own philosophy of life and your circumstances in advance and check whether these are compatible with the attitude of a Basenji – even if Corona is currently able to schedule your time more freely.
A Basenji’s life expectancy is longer than the pandemic!
And please inform yourself in advance about the characteristics of the breed on my homepage!

„Fallouh“ hat erfolgreich seine Rennlizenz absolviert!
„Fallouh“ (J-Ch. Msumaris Fallouh) absolvierte zwei erfolgreiche und zertifizierte Gruppenläufe zusammen mit seiner Mama „Minouh“ (Multi-Ch. Msumaris Aza Aminouh) und seinem besten Kumpel „Dayo“ (Ch. Msumaris Dayo Youyaro)!
Er ist nun stolzer Besitzer der Rennlizenz, die Basenjis benötigen, um an offiziellen Rennen hier in Deutschland / Österreich / der Schweiz und einigen weiteren Ländern teilnehmen zu können.
Vielen Dank an die Crew der Rennbahn in Mertingen für die Unterstützung und vielen Dank an Herrn Hofmann für die Abnahme der Lizenzläufe von „Fallouh“!
„Fallouh“ und „Dayo“ gehören P. & Angelika K., die diesen beiden schönen Basenjirüden ein wunderbares Zuhause in München geben ❤️

„Fallouh“ finished succesfully his racing licence!
„Fallouh“ (J-Ch. Msumari’s Fallouh) did two successful and certified group runs together with his mommy „Minouh“ (Multi-Ch. Msumari’s Aza Aminouh) and his best pal „Dayo“ (Ch. Msumari’s Dayo Youyaro)!
He is now a proud owner of the racing licence, which Basenjis need to have to take part on official races here in Germany/Austria/Switzerland and some more countries.
Thanks a lot to the crew of the track at Mertingen for your support and thanks a lot to Mr. Hofmann, for making the licence with „Fallouh“!

Wir haben Yagoh und seine Besitzer Laura & Mārcis in Innsbruck besucht und der kleine Bub war soooo glücklich, seine Mama Noué, das Msumari`s Rudel und mich wiederzusehen!
Yagoh ist so ein Hübscher und er hat so ein wundervolles Zuhause.
Wir haben einen wundervollen Tag zusammen verbracht mit einer schönen Wanderung in den Bergen und einem Besuch im Biergarten!

Wir planen den Msumari`s I-Wurf
Wegen der momentanen schwierigen Situation durch die Pandemie ist es allerdings noch nicht entschieden, wann der I-Wurf auf die Welt kommen wird und welche unserer 3 infrage kommenden Hündinnen Mama werden wird!
In den letzten Jahren hatten wir zwar immer wechselnde Sommerläufigkeiten unserer Hündinnen, es hat aber leider terminlich in der Vergangenheit leider nie für einen Wurf gepasst.
Wir hoffen nun auch in diesem Jahr auf eine der seltenen Sommerläufigkeiten und einen bei Basenjis sehr seltenen Sommerwurf!
Aber ob dies passieren wird, steht noch in den Sternen!
Und wegen der aktuellen Reisebeschränkungen steht im Moment auch noch nicht fest, welchen Rüden wir nehmen werden.
Ich habe ja so schon immer große Schwierigkeiten, einen adäquaten Rüden zu finden, in dieser Krise und den damit einhergehenden Einschränkungen ist das jetzt noch schwerer!
Das heißt also, der I-Wurf ist in Planung und er wird dann eventuell im Sommer 2020 fallen, spätestens aber Ende des Jahres 2020 oder Anfang nächsten Jahres 2021, wenn alles so läuft, wie wir hoffen.

Due to the current difficult situation due to the pandemic, it has not yet been decided when the I-litter will be born and which of our 3 girls will become a mom! In the past few years we have always had summerseasons of our girls, but unfortunately, in the past, it was timewise never suitable for a litter.
We hope this year again for one of the rare summer seasons and a for Basenjis very rare summer litter!
But we will see, if this will happen!
Due to the current travel restrictions, it is not yet clear which male we will choose. It`s always hard for me, to find an adequate male, in this crisis and the associated restrictions it is now even more difficult!
This means that the I-litter is planned and it may be in summer 2020, or in the end of 2020 or the beginning of next year 2021, if everything goes as we hope.

Der Abschied ist da!
So schwer es fällt, ab heute heißt es Abschied nehmen!
Die Welpen werden nun, ausgestattet mit Halsband & Leine, Körbchen & Decke, Spielzeug, Leckereien & Kauspaß, Futter ect in ihr neues Zuhause ziehen.
Während wir heiße Tränen vergießen, werden die Kleinen freudestrahlend von ihren zukünftigen Besitzern in Empfang genommen.
Wir sind happy, dass wir wieder einmal tolle Zuhause für unsere Schätze gefunden haben!
Macht es gut, ihr wildes Volk, wir sehen Euch alle bald einmal wieder!

Time to say good bye!
As hard as it is, from today on it`s time to say goodbye!
The puppies, equipped with collar & leash, basket & blanket, toys, treats & chewing stuff, food, etc., will move into their new homes.
While we are in tears, they are happily awaited by their future owners.
We are happy, that we have found, once again, great homes for our treasures!

Beim internationalen Coursing on Snow in Neustift im Stubaital (A) am 19.01.2020 starten die beiden Msumari`s Mädels von Tina & Siegi!
Siegerin auf der 700 Meter langen Strecke wird „Lany“ (Msumari`s Falany) mit 340 Punkten, dicht gefolgt von „Youma“ (Msumari`s Dayo Youma) mit 337 Punkten!
Es war das erste Schneecoursing für die Mädels und sie haben das ganz toll gemacht!

❤️ Lany wins the coursing on snow ❤️
The two Msumari`s Mädels of Tina & Siegi started at the international coursing on snow in Neustift, Stubaital (A) on 19.01.2020!
Winner on the course of 700 m was „Lany“ (Msumari`s Falany) with 340 points, followed by „Youma“ (Msumari`s Dayo Youma) with 337 points!
It was the first snow coursing for the girls and they did a great job!

Nach einer ziemlich unruhigen Nacht hat Noué am Dienstagmorgen, 14.01.20 zwischen 6.10 und 7.15 Uhr 4 wundervolle Welpen zur Welt gebracht!
Einem tri Rüden mit 211gr folgte eine rot-weiße Hündin mit 204gr, dann kam ein weiterer tri Rüde mit 235gr und schließlich noch ein rot-weißer Rüde mit 210gr!
Noué und den Kleinen geht es großartig und ich bin mehr als glücklich, dass Noué so entspannt ist wie ihre Verwandten zuvor und den anderen 4 Msumari-Mädchen erlaubt, zu helfen!
Alle Welpen haben eine wundervolle, gleichmäßige Zeichnung und weiße Krägen, sie sind glücklich und zufrieden und sie sind bisher keine großen Schreier!

After a quite restless night, on tuesday morning, 14.01.20, between 6.10h – 7.15h Noué gave birth to 4 wonderful puppies!
A tri boy with 211gr was followed by a red-white girl with 204gr, then another tri boy with 235gr and finally a red-white boy with 210gr!
Noué and the little ones are doing great and I am more than happy, that Noué is as relaxed as her relatives before and allowes the other 4 Msumari’s girls to help ❤️
All puppies have wonderful markings and full collars, they are happy and content and they are no big yellers!
